Tulia Texas—Eugene Hernandez, Sr., 87, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at his home in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 30, 2010 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held at 6:30 pm Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Mr. Hernandez was born May 2, 1923 in Nordheim, Texas. He married Estella Arrendondo on February 15, 1952 in Yorktown, TX. They moved to Tulia in 1960. He was a farmer. Survivors include his wife: Stella Hernandez of Tulia, five daughters: Ciria Lopez of Amarillo, Estella Hernandez of Bradenton, Florida, Sylvia Tucker of Paducah, Edelia Aleman of Allen and Clara Molina of Lubbock, four sons: Eugene Hernandez, Jr. of Tulia, Lorenzo Hernandez of Tulia, Elojio Hernandez of Amarillo and Manuel Hernandez of Amarillo, one sister: Teodora Moy of Floresville, Texas, 21 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters.
