Bobby Ann Underwood (Plainview)

Bobby Ann Underwood, 78, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in Petersburg Cemetery with Rev. Kerry Groce officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Underwood was born on September 3, 1928 in Happy, Texas. She grew up in Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School. She married Ken Underwood on February 22, 1947 in Petersburg. They operated Hagood’s Department Store for many years. Mr. Underwood preceded her in death along with a son Brett. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Ann Underwood of Lubbock; a sister, Shirley Scarborough of Petersburg; three grandsons, Cade and Shana Underwood of Lubbock, Josh and Jennifer Underwood of Lubbock, and Miles Underwood of Southland; and three great grandchildren, Cale Underwood, Lilli Underwood, and Maggie Underwood all of Lubbock. Also, special caregivers Francis Dunlap and her son Michael Dunlap. The family suggests memorials to the Buckner Baptist Children’s Home, 2101 Broadway, Lubbock, Texas 79401.
