Tulia Texas—Charles L. Cox, 86, died Friday, October 8, 2010 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Charles was born April 7, 1924 in Panhandle, TX to L.D. and Rosa Cox. He grew up there until high school where he moved to Amarillo and Graduated from Amarillo High School. He served in the US Marines in the South Pacific and China from 1944-1947. He returned to Amarillo and joined the National Guard and retired as a Captain in 1958. He married Inez Rossi on September 17, 1947 in Amarillo. For the last 30 years he managed a ranch in Swisher County. Survivors include his wife: Inez Cox of Tulia, four sons and daughters-in-law: Lance and Nadine Cox of Tulia, Val and Shane Cox of San Antonio, Eric and Angie Cox of Tulia, Thad and Toni Cox of Tampa Bay, Florida, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons: Gwane Cox and Alex Cox.
