Louise Reed (Plainview)

Louise Reed, 80, of Kress, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Kress. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 P.M., Monday, October 18, 2010, at the funeral home. Mrs. Reed was born on December 31, 1929, in Amherst, Texas, to Robert L. and Mamie Allen May. She graduated from McMurry University in Abilene in 1951. She married Robert P. Reed, Jr. on April 25, 1953 in Plainview. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2010. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Kress. She played the organ and piano for many years. She taught Sunday School class and was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Group. She was a strong Christian who loved to spend her time volunteering and serving others. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Bennington and husband Dale of Abilene, a son, Tim Reed and wife Teri of Kress, four grandchildren, Jon Anderson and Reed Anderson of San Angelo and Sean Reed and Riley Reed of Kress, and two brothers, Robert A. May and wife Betty of Carson City, NV and Davis May of Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Box 702, Kress, Texas 79052.
