Ben Foster, 81, a longtime Plainview resident and businessman passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 at Prairie House Living Center after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Oscar Chavez, Chaplain of Area Community Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Hebern Benjamin “Ben” Foster, Jr. was born June 16, 1929 in Earth, Texas to Hebern Benjamin, Sr. and Vera Mae Stewart Foster. He married the love of his life, Helen Francis Underwood on September, 18, 1947 in Levelland, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1995. Ben owned and operated Artway Tree Service in Plainview for over 40 years. His company was instrumental in the care and beautification of several county courthouse landscapes, University landscapes and large pecan orchards in the South Plains. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home and being outdoors. Mr. Foster was a Mason and a Baptist. He is survived by three sons: Sammy & Fran Foster of Katy, Steve & Mary Foster of Fort Worth and Stacey & Jolene Foster of Cleburne and four grandchildren: Dr. Ami Foster of Katy, Ben Clay Foster of Fort Worth, Katie Foster of Fort Worth and Kennedy Foster of Cleburne.
