Thomas Davis (Plainview)

Thomas L. Davis, 81, of Hart, passed away at his home on November 2, 2010. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 5, 2010 at Northwest Church of Christ in Plainview with Mr. Jay Henderson officiating and Mr. Gerald Bedwell assisting. Burial will follow in Olton Cemetery in Olton, Texas under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 6 to 7:30 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Davis was born on February 5, 1929 in Nelta, Texas to the late William and Jeannie Davis. He grew up in and around the Sulphur Springs area. They moved to Olton in 1943. He farmed in Olton and Hart area for 60 plus years. He was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ in Plainview and a member of the Golden Group in Hart. He married Barbara Sharp on November 9, 1949 in Plainview. Survivors include his wife Barbara Davis of Hart; three sons, Jerry Don Davis and wife Brenda of Hart, Kenneth Leon Davis and wife Kay of Denver City, Doyle Keith Davis and wife Darla of Hart; two daughters, Martha Ross and husband Ollie of Hart, Patsy Stewart and husband Otto of Brackettville; daughter-in-law, Kathy Davis of Hobbs, New Mexico; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Davis of Plainview, L.T. Davis of Olton; and two sisters, Opal Shelton of Plainview, Rosie Connor of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Larry Joe Davis; one brother, Richard Davis; and two sisters, Murdis and Ana Dora Davis.
