Dorothy Brown (Plainview)

Dorothy Brown, 90, of Plainview, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Plainview Healthcare Center. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Plainview Cemetery with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Services are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Brown was born on May 20, 1916 in the Indian Territory, Anadarko, Oklahoma to James Adison and Jose Asher Brown. She married Virgel Rankin Brown on December 24, 1940 in Plainview. He died January 29, 1990. Dorothy had attended Texas Tech University and Wayland Baptist University. She had worked at Unger Memorial Library for over 18 years until her retirement. She had been involved in the Plainview Community Concert and a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Bill Brown of Plainview; a grandson, Michael Shawn Brown of Plainview. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday, November 24, 2006, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
