Mary Tipton (Plainview)

Mary Tipton, 96, of Plainview passed away on November 8, 2010 in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Tipton was born March 10, 1914 in Goodnight Texas to the late Monroe and Ethel Brown. She grew up in Goodnight, and graduated from Goodnight High School. She married Bernard Paul Tipton on September 4, 1937 in Plainview. Mr. Tipton died in 1975. Mary was the manager for Vick’s Cleaners for 45 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Tipton is survived by many nieces and nephews including the local, Nikki Branscum and husband Mark of Plainview, Kelvin Tipton and wife Kaye of Plainview, Emmitt Tipton and wife Glenda of Plainview, Drexel Tipton and wife Geneva of Plainview, local brother-in-law Horace Tipton of Amarillo local sister-in-law Athlee Lambert of Plainview and by numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Monroe and Ethel Brown: her husband: one brother Tom Brown, two sisters Dora Neal and Myrle Ard. Memorials may be sent to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P. O.
