Charlene Fullingim (Plainview)

Charlene Fullingim, 79, of Petersburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 22, 2010 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Petersburg with Jeff McCreight, pastor of Overton Park Fellowship in Lubbock officiating. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. Charlene was born on February 3, 1931 in Altus, Oklahoma to Charles and Lela Jackson. They moved to Abernathy in 1942 and she attended schools in New Deal. She married Gene Fullingim on October 25, 1948 in Amarillo. She was first and foremost a homemaker but she also owned and operated an Antique Business and was an Artist and Art Teacher. She loved the Lord, and loved living on the farm, loved animals, and most of all she loved her family. Survivors include her husband Gene Fullingim of Petersburg; her children, Ann Underwood and husband Alan of Lubbock, Sid Fullingim of Petersburg, Eddie Fullingim and wife Leisa of Petersburg, Jenny Davidson of Lubbock; two sisters, Betty Byrd and husband Chug of Vienna, VA, Paula Gatlin and husband Larry of Houston; seven grandchildren, Cade Underwood and wife Shana of Lubbock, Josh Underwood and wife Jennifer of Lubbock, Miles Underwood and wife Jaci of Southland, Brice Fullingim and wife Lisa of Kennewick, WA, Wade Fullingim of Petersburg, Alissa Tubbs and husband Jake of Garland, Heath Davidson and wife Lyndsey of Lubbock; and 13 Great Grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock, 1102 Slide Rd., Suite 3, Lubbock, TX 79416. The family would like to thank all of the staff on South 8 and South 7 of Covenant Medical Center and the Respiratory Therapists.
