Plainview, Texas--Kay Crandall Jackson, 80, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in the Northwest Church of Christ with Mr. J Henderson and Mr. Van Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 Monday, December 6, 2010 at the funeral home. Kay Crandall was born July 9, 1930 in rural Hale Center to Frank and Frances Block Crandall. She started school at Clements, west of Hale Center, attended Hale Center, East Mound and Plainview Schools graduating from Plainview High School and Watson Business College. She married Robert Earl Jackson on November 20, 1948. She worked as the Deputy Hale County Clerk for 20 years. She also was legal secretary for John T. Boyd, Dick Reep and Payton Randolph. She retired from Hale County in 1992. She was the reunion chairman for the PHS Class of 1947 since 1980. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Care Inn Friends and Family Support Group, MS Support Group and a former member of the Hale County Historical Commission. She was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ. She is survived by her children: Judy Craigo of Dallas, Rod and Vernetta Jackson of Copperas Cove, Susan and Ron Felty of Lubbock, Clay Jackson and Plug Piehl of Amarillo and Janie and Tom Coddington of Bloomfield, NM, one brother: Stuart Crandall of Springfield, MO, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, Pretty Kitty and many beloved friends.
