Tulia, Texas— Miles D. Anderson, 84, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at his home in Tulia. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Miles was born April 2, 1926 to Miley and Hazel Anderson in the Love Community in Swisher Co. He attended schools in the Love Community and Kress. He joined the US Navy in 1944 and served as an armed guard on a merchant marines transport ship in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Jo Whitten on August 30, 1947. He worked for Cooper Electric and REA (now Swisher Electric) as a lineman for several years. He then became a master electrician and was self employed for several years and farmed at the same time. He was a Plainview Herald rural paper for several years and was currently a Rural Mail Carrier for the Tulia Post Office working for the Love and Vigo Park Communities for the past 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia. He is survived by his wife: Jo Anderson of Tulia, two daughters and sons-in-law: Gay and Bobby Hutchens of Garland, Kay and David Maxwell of Kilgore, two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry Anderson and Denise McDonald of Boyd and D. and Robbin Anderson of Prosper, one brother: W.K. Anderson of Amarillo, two sisters: Janice Johnson of Amarillo and Violet Johnson of Amarillo, four grandchildren: Jacob and Carley Maxwell of College Station, Keifer Anderson, Shepard Anderson and Henley Anderson, all of Prosper, two great grandchildren: Reece Maxwell and Spencer Maxwell, both of College Station. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Pat Smith and a grandson: Aleck D Anderson. Memorials may be made to the America Supports You, Texas Honor Flight, P.O.
