Billy Louise Altman (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Billy Louise Altman, 87, died Friday, December 1, 2006 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday, December 4, 2006 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kay Reed, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. She was born February 26, 1919 in Bailey Co., TX. She grew up in Canyon and graduated from Canyon High School. She attended Business College for two years. Mrs. Altman married Daniel Altman on April 3, 1941. He died June 7, 1990. They moved to Post after their marriage and she worked as a telephone operator. They moved to Tulia in 1954 and she worked for Southwestern Public Service as a bookkeeper for 5 years and then for Tulia Co-op Gin for 8 years as a bookkeeper. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Tulia Senior Citizens. Survivors include one daughter; Judy Clark of Happy, TX and one son; Danny Altman of Tulia, one sister; Ruth Stone of Donna, TX, 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; Dan Altman, one son; Jackie Altman and one granddaughter; Jamie Altman. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 119 N. Briscoe, Tulia, TX 79088.
