Maxine McCartie (Plainview)

Maxine McCartie, 82, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Prairie House Living Center. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Seth Ward Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Ritter officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the funeral home. Mrs. McCartie was born on July 25, 1928 in Lamesa, Texas to the late David Carlton Lindley. She married Spencer McCartie on December 25, 1946 in Littlefield, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2009. Mrs. McCartie was a member of Seth Ward Baptist where she was church secretary, taught Sunday school and was president of WMU. She is survived by two sons: Ron and wife Patty McCartie of Plainview and Tom and wife Becky of McCartie of Plainview; one brother: D.C. Lindley, Jr. of Fritch, Texas; one sister: Eloise Wilson of Muleshoe; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel McCartie; one brother Weldon Lindley; three sisters Evelyn Curb, Dorothy Kessey, and Freda Poe.
