Elvira Gomez Medina (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Elvira Gomez Medina, 57 of Plainview, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 in Lubbock. Rosary services will be held at 7:00pm Monday, December 11, 2006 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Tony Neusch, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. She was born April 18, 1949 in Ballinger, Texas. She grew up in Tulia and attended schools here. She helped her dad farm in Swisher County and she also worked at the Hornet Restaurant. She attended the Church of the Holy Spirit. She moved to Plainview in 1989. Survivors include seven children; Brenda Kay Raso of Nixon, TX, Selma Lee Raso of Lubbock, TX, Rogelio Garcia, Jr. of Lubbock, TX, Deidra Deann Garcia of Lubbock, TX, Maribel Medina of Lubbock, TX, Davina Eloisa Aguilar of Houston, TX and Desirae Elvira McMickings of Plainview, TX, also 2 brothers; Robert Gomez of Tulia, TX and David Gomez of Tulia, TX, 7 sisters; Lena Saldana of Amarillo, TX, Alice Saldana of Tulia, TX, Mary Ann Vargas of Amarillo, TX, Linda Chavarria of Lubbock, TX, Lofidia Galvan of Lubbock, TX, Dolores Turner of Lubbock, TX, Pauline Galvan of Lubbock, TX., 28 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; Jesus Gomez, Sr. and Eloisa Perez Gomez, one daughter; Ernestina Raso and two brothers; Jesus Gomez, Jr. and Julian Gomez.
