Tulia, Texas— A.D. Ruland, 81, died Friday, December 29, 2006 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, December 30, 2006 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. James Hassell, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. Mr. Ruland was born January 23, 1925 in Swisher County, Texas. He grew up in Tulia and attended Tulia schools. He served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 during WWII. He married June Buster on March 14, 1946 in Tulia. He worked for Tulia Wheat Growers for 42 years. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; June Ruland of Tulia, two daughters and sons-in-law; Jeannett and John Herring of Tulia and Lora and John Strother of Panhandle, one sister; Shirley Wilfong of Tulia and 3 grandchildren; Jonna and Brian Brashear of Dallas, Jeremy Herring of Lubbock and Suzanne Strother of Panhandle.
