Mittie Lee Painter of Edmonson, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2006 in Plainview. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tues, January 2, 2007 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Neff of Edmonson First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Painter was born on February 2, 1921 in Vernon to T. R. and Mittie Love Dykes. She married Albert Painter, February 2, 1940, in Plainview. Mittie Lee moved to the Runningwater Community in 1928 with her parents. She graduated from Runningwater School in 1938. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was a member of Edmonson First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband Albert Painter of Edmonson; two daughters Sharon Threadgill of Ft. Worth, Donna Ware and her husband Larry of Springhill, Tennessee; two sons Alton Painter and his wife Kathy of Plainview, Brian Painter of Edmonson; a brother T. R. Dykes, Jr. of Plainview; two sisters Dorothy Whitfield of Odessa, Mary Ruth Edmonson of Shallowater; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
