Margaret Robinson (Plainview)

Margaret Robinson, 76, of Plainview passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Covenant Hospital in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 19, 2007 at St. Alice Catholic Church with Father Jim McCartney officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Robinson was born on November 22, 1930 in Plainview. She grew up in Lubbock and attended schools there. She graduated from Lubbock High School and then attended Texas Tech University. She worked as a Service Representative for Southwestern Bell Telephone for a total of 35 years. She was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church, and she was a Silver Haired Legislator. She was also a member of the American Contract Bridge League, Plainview Duplicate Bridge Club, and the Delta Delphin Club of Plainview. She married Carlton Allyn Robinson, Jr. on September 11, 1954 in Lubbock. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2005. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Johnson and her husband Ken of Kennesaw, Georgia, Carla Stanford and her husband David of Carrollton, Texas; one son, Carlton Allyn Robinson, III and his wife Sheila of Holyoke, Colorado; two sisters, Betty Smith of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Kay Yarbrough of Wanette, Oklahoma; 3 Grandchildren, and 6 Step-Grandchildren; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary Prayer Service from 7 to 8 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. The family suggests memorials to Plainview Senior Citizens, 1107 Smythe, Plainview, Texas 79072 or favorite charity.
