Norman Finck, 79, died Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Tulia, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Finck was born to Joe and Edna Finck on July 16, 1927 in Tulia. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1946. He spent his entire life in Tulia except when he was in the Army and served in Japan during the occupation. He farmed north of Tulia until he started working for Swisher County in Precinct 1 for the past 18 years. He was a life member of the VFW. He held several local offices and was District Commander for 1 year. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church and has served on several committees. He also helped with Haynes District Scouting. He married Naomi Bates in Tulia on February 8, 1950. They were 4 days short of their 57 wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Finck of Tulia; a son, Jim Finck and his wife Karen of Flower Mound, TX; a daughter, Zane Taylor and her husband Ronn of Tulia; two sisters, Lonella “Polly” Avent of Amarillo, Doris Lust of Dimmitt; two brothers, Orville Finck of Tulia, Alva Finck of Georgetown; three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Dale Finck in 2004. The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church, 113 N. Donley, Tulia, TX 79088.
