Emory Huggins, 94, of Plainview, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2007 in Covenant Hospital Plainview. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2007 in the chapel of First United Methodist Church in Plainview with Dr. Lewis Holland and Dr. Max Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Huggins was born July 25, 1912 in Carrollton, Texas to John D. and Leota Walker Huggins. He married Flossie Reasonover on May 15, 1932 in Lockney, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1996. After graduating from Lockney High School in 1928 he started his first produce business. In 1941 Mr. Huggins moved to Plainview where he was associated with Clary Poultry and Egg and later The Flying K Egg Ranch. Mr. Huggins later became a licensed commodity broker and was associated with Bob Castleberry in the securities business. Survivors include one son: Norman Huggins & wife Mar-Jo of Plainview; one daughter: Carolyn Hollis of Houston; Grandchildren: Chris Huggins & wife Dana, Tanya Gwin & husband Holmes; Great Grandchildren: Kieffer McBeth, Wells Gwin and Logan Gwin. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the parlor of the First United Methodist Church.
