Patricia Louise Armstrong Karrh, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 3, 2007, after a brief illness. Born in Lewellen, Nebraska on April 1, 1948, the first of three daughters born to Tom and Martha Wheeler Armstrong, Pat started her early school years in a single room, rural Nebraska school. The family ultimately moved to Longview, Texas where Pat graduated from Longview High School. She attended the University of Texas School of Nursing in Galveston, Texas where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as the outstanding nursing student and president of her class. While in nursing school, she met the love of her life, Larry R. Karrh, M.D. They were married June 13, 1970 and after Larry completed his Family Medicine Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, the couple made their home in Plainview, Texas. A loving and hardworking mother, grandmother, friend and nurse, Pat cared for all who were blessed to come into her life, whether caring for sick children and staff as a school nurse, cooking weekly church dinners, or helping a neighbor, Pat was a tireless and gracious helper to all. In addition to her nursing career, Pat served multiple years on the Plainview Independent School Board of Trustees and is a past President of the Plainview Chamber of Commerce. In the summer of 2003, Pat and Larry moved to Boerne, Texas, outside of San Antonio. At the time of her death, Pat was serving as Health Care Coordinator for the Alamo Heights Independent School District and the nurse at Howard Early Childhood Development Center in San Antonio, Texas. She is survived by her husband Larry, clinical faculty for the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residence Program; daughter Kristen Karrh of Frisco; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Jill Karrh and “Nana’s” beloved grandchildren, Jordan and Landon of Frisco; and daughter and son-in-law Kara and Marc Powell of San Antonio. She also leaves behind in this life her mother, Martha Armstrong; sister and brother-in-law Rhonda and David Richards; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Larry DeArmon; three nieces and a nephew all of Longview; one niece from Wylie; six great-nephews; and multiple loving cousins and friends. Pat was a long time member and church hostess for First Baptist Church Plainview and at the time of her death was a member of the First Baptist Church of Boerne. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, 4:30 pm, at First Baptist Church of San Antonio. Funeral and Burial services will be Thursday, March 8, 2007, 11:30 am at First Baptist Church of Plainview, Texas.
