Elizabeth Dixon, 75, of Plainview, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 at her residence. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007 at Kress First Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Reynolds, pastor of Kress First Baptist Church and Rev. Jay Simpson, pastor of Akin First Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Dixon was born on July 25, 1931 in Plainview to Quincy C. and Irene Hartley Gaines. She married Daryl Dixon on March 15, 1950 in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1951. The Dixons moved to Kress in 1953 and back to Plainview in 1989. Elizabeth had worked for Payne’s Ready Wear in the early 60’s. In 1972 she started teaching painting at Gee Gee’s Arts and Crafts and had taught painting at two National Painting Conventions. In 1980 she was awarded the Certified Teacher Degree Award. A long time member of Kress First Baptist Church, which she served on numerous committees and a charter member of Mu Lambda Sorority. Her two loves were Painting and Grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Daryl; one daughter Darlena Burnett and husband Stan of Granbury; one son Don Dixon and wife Marcia of Plainview; one sister Margaret Kay and husband Charles of Edmonson; Five grandchildren.
