Agustin Rey, Jr. (Plainview)

Agustin Rey, Jr., 88, of Plainview, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in Plainview, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 21, 2025 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas with Interim Hospice Chaplin Chris Craig officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.

Agustin was born on February 9, 1937 to Agustin Rey, Sr. and Inez in South Texas. He grew up in Midland and Odessa area before moving to Olton. He married Alicia Garcia in 1963 in Beeville, Texas. He attended the Mexican Bible Institute in San Antonio where he received his degree. Agustin was a minister for many years at several Baptist churches. He worked for the City of Plainview for thirty-five years in building maintenance. Agustin loved animals and showed Pomeranians. He volunteered at the Plainview Senior Center, where he was Board president. He also volunteered with F.I.S.H. and loved singing with the Millennium Singers. He also volunteered for many things throughout the years.

Agustin is preceded in death by his parents, Agustin Rey, Sr. and Inez; one son, Rico Rey and six siblings.

He is survived by his wife Alicia Garcia Rey; one son Rigo Rey and wife Joann of Plainview; two brothers, Tomas Rey of Muleshoe, Luis Rey of Rockwall; one sister, Angelita Pedrosa of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Erica Rey and Mac Schneekloth of Houston, Jorel Rey and Kayla Sageser of Plainview, and two great grandchildren, Henry Rey of Plainview and Kayleigh Rey of Plainview.
