Aldie Evert White, 79, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 2, 2024. He was born on February 17, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to Willie and Dearo [Jones] White.
The family later moved to multiple locations including Seagoville, Memphis and Tulia, Texas where he grew up and attended public school. In 1967, Aldie joined the Marine Corps serving his country in Vietnam and other austere locations. In 1969, he left the Corps with multiple decorations and with honors.
As he transitioned through life, he later met, loved and married Dora [Powell] of Tulia. In Tulia, Aldie became known for many things...entrepreneur, business owner, welder, builder, farmer and anything else that kept him busy. Most of all, he is known for his friendly smile and infectious laugh (he never met a stranger) and the blue bike.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Dearo White, his sisters Missionary Maetta Lewis and Evangelist Patsy Tatum, and his brothers Melvin Brown, Herbert White, Bennie White, and Tommy White, Sr.
Those who will lovingly cherish the memory of Aldie White are his children: Barbara Yarbrough, Sherri Shivers, Roland, Jerl & Steven Powell (all of Tulia), Kenneth Powell (of Lubbock), Carolyn Wafer (of Dalhart) & Tony Powell (of Plainview).
He is also survived by his brother Rickey (Michelle) White, and his sister Rita Clay (all of Tulia) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2024 in the New Fellowship Baptist Church; 105 S Austin Ave, Tulia, Tx 79088. Cremation services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
