Alfredo G. Hernandez, 80, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Rusty Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
A visitation will be held at 5:30 to 8:00 PM, Monday, February 3, 2025 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.
Alfredo was born on February 18, 1944, in Jourdanton, Texas, to Marcelino and Esther (Garza) Hernandez. He spent a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments, particularly with his beloved wife, Manuelita "Nellie" Maestas, whom he married on February 18, 1977, in Amarillo. Alfredo’s journey led him to work at Lively and Bagley Gin until 1978, after which he contributed his talents at D/A Manufacturing until retirement. He also ran his own small business, "Pinche Yonke," for twenty-five years, leaving a mark in his community. A proud member of the Tex-Mex bowling league, he never missed a chance to share his passion for the game, usually with a joke and a smile.
Alfredo was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and found immense joy in spending quality time with family. In his free time, he loved playing horseshoes and indulging in classic western movies and shows on the Grit Channel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Esther Hernandez; his brother, Domingo Hernandez; his sister, Felicita Hernandez; his daughter, Rosalinda Zaragoza; his son-in-law, Jesse Martinez, his grandson, Manuel Carbajal Jr.; his great granddaughters, Kylie Nolan, Penelope Hernandez and Bridget Konetsco.
He is survived by his loving wife; Nellie Hernandez; his children, Alfredo Hernandez Jr. and wife Rhonda, Ramona Martinez, Roland Hernandez and wife Evonne, Christina Mayhall and husband Jim, Ralph Hernandez and wife Hilda, Robert Hernandez and wife Cindy, Rene Hernandez and wife Rosemary and Bianca Hernandez and husband Mike; his brother, Richard Hernandez; 36 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren.
