Alma Rosa Torres, 64, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 25, 2021 at La Primera Iglesia Bautista with Rev. Santos Rodriguez officiating.  Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Kornerstone.

Alma was born on December 24, 1956 in Reynosa, Mexico to Jesus and Consuelo Villarreal.  She grew up in Mexico and married Ruben Torres on June 10, 1978.  They immigrated to the United States in the early 1980’s.  Alma was a homemaker.  She was very crafty, and along with Ruben made leather goods and sold them at the flea market in Lubbock.  Alma loved to cook, take care of her grandchildren, and go to church.  She was a member of the La Primera Iglesia Bautista.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Jesus and Feliciano Villarreal.

She is survived by her husband Ruben Torres of Plainview; two daughters, Berenice Camarillo of Plainview, Alma Rosa Rodriguez of McKinney; one brother, Joel Villarreal of McAllen; and five grandchildren.
