Amelia Rodriguez Ramos, 92, of Plainview passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 3, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George Poonely officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel officiated by the Knights of Columbus.
"The Lord has gotten me through all of my life." She was born July 20, 1930 in Mertzon, TX and moved to Plainview in 1945. She married Victor Ramos on November 27, 1948 in Plainview. She worked at C.R. Anthony and with the Social Security office while volunteering with the Pink Ladies Covenant Auxiliary from 2002-2015 crocheting baby blankets and caps for family, friends and her babies at Covenant Hospital which still holds a special place in her heart and Faith in Sharing House from 2002-2015.
She had been a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church volunteering wherever she has been needed for the past 65 years. Her ministry involved being a CCD Teacher in sponsoring and mentoring many children in receiving the Holy Sacraments. Having a devotion in honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe and maintaining their mission to support the church. She believed it was Nobel and Necessary to Fulfil God's Mission. She was given a proclamation on her 90th birthday by her friends and family members for volunteering for numerous agencies during her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel & Felis Rodriguez; her loving husband, Victor Ramos, Sr.; one son, Victor Ramos Jr; one daughter, Dorothy Leija; one sister, Helen Villarreal and two brothers, Merejildo and Pioquinto.
She is survived by her three sons, Ray Ramos of Amarillo, Rudy Ramos of Amarillo and Danny Ramos of Plainview; two daughters, Irene Moreno of Plainview and Margaret Rivera of Plainview; seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren and many friends and family members.
The family suggest memorial to the Knights of Columbus at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
