Anita Aranda Arellanes (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Anita Aranda Arellanes, 65, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 in Amarillo.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Tulia Christian Fellowship with Pastor Rusty Gray officiating. Cremation services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, December 27, 2020 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Masks are required for the funeral service for your own safety.

Anita was born on December 28, 1954 in Roswell, New Mexico to Alberto Perez, Sr. and Delfina (Aranda) Romero. Anita attended schools in Tulia and worked hard to get her GED. Anita worked for Rainbow Floral, where she had talent arranging flowers.  She married Joel Arellanes in 2008 in Tulia.  Anita worked as a teacher aid and crossing guard for the Tulia Schools and later went to work for the Tulia Head Start for many years until her retirement. Anita loved the farm life especially feeding her chickens in her own loving ways and one of her favorite dogs is “Azul”. Nana’s days were special to the grandchildren and she would show them how to cook and loved them very much. Anita had a sense of humor, making jokes and playing pranks on Joel. She was an amazing cook and loved to dance. Anita will be missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother; Alberto Perez, Jr., one sister; Alicia Perez.

She is survived by her husband; Joel Arellanes, two daughters; Kristina Solomon and husband Shawn and Monica De Los Santos and husband Ray, one son; Gabriel Rodriguez and wife Regina, one brother; Daniel Perez, two sisters; Delia Vasquez and Josie Perez, 8 grandchildren; Gabree, Giana, Gabrielle and Xavier Rodriguez, Shawn Jr., and Annalise Solomon, Adonica and Alaina De Los Santos and four step grandchildren and one great granddaughter; Brielle Alvarez.
