Tulia, Texas—Ann “Annabelle” Schacher, 92, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
Ann was the eldest child of Thye Wesley and Minnie Bell Moore, born on October 24, 1925 in Tulia, Texas. Ann was six years old when she became the older sister of twins, T.W., Jr. and Betty Sue.
On May 30, 1942 Ann married Bernard “Bennie” Nick Schacher. After Bennie returned from service in the U.S. Army Corps, Ann and Bennie lived in Wyoming and Nazareth, before moving to Swisher County. They farmed in Castro and Swisher Counties until Bennie’s death on November 7, 1962. On August 13, 1963 Ann married Johnny Flippo, who also farmed in Swisher County, until his death on April 15, 1983.
For the last six and one half years of her life Ann lived at the Georgia Manor Nursing Home in Amarillo. Ann was not only preceded in death by two husbands, but also by her parents and her siblings, T.W. and Betty Sue Moore. Ann is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
