Tulia, Texas—Ann Marie Thompson, 57, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in the Central Church of Christ with Rev. Rance Young and Mr. Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Ann was born on August 6, 1960 in Vinton, Iowa to Richard and Mary Lou Wood. She grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Coronado High School. She married Mark Thompson on January 7, 1983 celebrating 35 years of marriage this year. She worked as an administrative assistant for Mid-Plains Rural Telephone Company for 32 years retiring in August, 2017.  She was a house wife and loved her kids and grandkids with all her heart. She was an avid seamstress; her passion was creating lifelong keepsakes for her family and friends through embroidery; cross stitch and sewing. She was very active in the Living Water Emmaus Community and they shared a special place in her heart. She loved life and lived life to the fullest. Those who knew her could see she lived a life modeled after Christ and she was well known and loved by everyone, even with her fight against cancer she had a positive outlook. Her favorite bible verse was I Cor. 13:13, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” The family wishes to thank the entire Tulia community for supporting her in her fight with cancer. She is preceded in death by her mother: Mary Lou Hoffman, her step-mother: Pat Wood and one brother: Joey Wally. She is survived by her husband: Mark Thompson of Tulia, two daughters: Elizabeth Adams and husband Ewell of Tulia and Valerie Watson of Tulsa, OK, one son: William Thompson and wife Shelbi of Tulia, her father: Richard Wood of Lubbock, Texas, three brothers: David Wood of Parker, CO, Robert Wood of Lubbock and Robert Nelson of Kansas City, Missouri, one sister: Sandy Townsend of Albuquerque, NM, her mother and father-in-law: Jack and Ava Thompson and her wonderful five grandchildren: Easton Wade Adams, Emery Morgan Adams, Annie Rae Watson, Callie Grace Watson and Tripp Michael Watson. Memorials may be made to the Tulia High School Girls Athletics, 501 Hornet Dr., Tulia, Texas 79088, First United Methodist Church, 700 Commerce, Silverton, Texas 79257 or the Central Church of Christ, 300 N.
