Anna Marie Cruz (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Anna Marie Cruz, 48, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022. A rosary and service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 2:00pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Anna Marie was born November 30, 1973, in Tulia to Ishmael and Sylvia Buentello Cruz. She grew up in Tulia and attended schools at Vigo Park and Tulia. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1994 and attended Vista college in 2014 as a business major. Anna  Marie was a very outgoing person and beloved daughter, sister and friend. She loved helping others, she loved to dance, talk and was a very happy and outgoing person.

While working in Lubbock at her very first General Management position for Cheezies, she won an award for her humanitarian efforts. Which helped to initiate a program that would get mentally disabled and homeless people a chance to find work at Cheezies and eventually lead to other businesses following suit. She loved her family, her dogs, watching wrestling, 49ers and was known for her laugh.

She is preceded in death by her father: Ishmael (Ismo) Cruz.

She is survived by her husband: Michael Barrow of Tulia, two sons: Ishmael Cruz of Tulia and Ricardo San Miguel of Lubbock, two brothers: Jonathan Garza of Tulia and Michael Garza of Dallas, two sisters: Mia Cruz of Lubbock and Micaela Cruz of Tulia, Her mother and step-father: Sylvia Cruz of Lubbock and Esbardo Cruz of Dalhart, her step-mother: Debra Cruz of Tulia, and her grandchildren: Ricardo San Miguel, Alyah San Miguel, Leon Galvez, Elijah Galvez, Damian Galvez, Lily Cortez and Gabriella San Miguel and several nieces and nephews.
