Antonio Alvarez was born on December 19, 1958 and left this temporary home for his heavenly abode on November 4, 2019 at the age of 60. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the funeral home. Antonio was born in Orange County, California. Over his lifetime, he spent time in many places, alongside those he loved, including California, Washington, Mexico and ultimately Texas. Antonio was retired and fully devoted to being a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play and perform. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah, and her husband, Tommy Alcozer Jr., his son, Steven Garcia, and their mother, Frances Alvarez. His grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Barrientos, married to Chris, Trinity DeAnn Garcia, Joseph Nathaniel Alcozer, Adrian Jeremiah Alcozer and Genevieve Asella Alcozer will miss their PoPo greatly. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Avrin Lee Barrientos, Keano Kade Barrientos and Naiya Rain Barrientos He is also survived by his mother, Maria Jara Leija, and his siblings: Alvaro Leija; Sylvia Hildalgo; Ramon Leija, married to Lydia; Mari Leija-Garza; Mateo Leija, married to Catherine; John Leija; Joe Leija, married to Isabel; Severo Leija Jr.; Inez Riojas; Celestino Leija, married to Sherrie; David Leija and Leticia Gonzalez, married to Alonzo. Antonio was also blessed with an additional set of parents who loved him as their own. He is survived by his aunt, Maria Magdalena Cadena de Jara, and his cousins Yolanda Jara Cadena; Francisco Javier Jara, married to Dora; Fermin Jara, married to Alejandra; Ramiro Jara, married to Rosalinda and Manuel Jara, married to Carmen. Many, many nieces and nephews will also miss him dearly. His father, Ramon Alvarez, his stepfather, Severo Leija Sr., his beloved uncle, Francisco Jara, and his cousin, Ignacio Ortega, welcomed him in heaven.
