Arturo Octavio Alvarado, 70, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Chapel with Oscar Chavez and Johnny Escalante officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Mr. Alvarado was born on May 1, 1947 to Jose Refugio and Isidra (Delgado) Alvarado in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico. He has lived in Plainview for 44 years. He married Mary Deleon on October 11, 1969 in Hereford, Texas. He worked as a self employed automotive mechanic in Hereford and Plainview for over 49 years. He was a member of International Fellowship of Christians and Jews where he has sponsored children in Peru and Christian and Jewish causes. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Refugio and Isidra Delgado Alvarado. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alvarado of Plainview; his son, Jose Daniel Alvarado and wife Amy of Schertz, TX; his daughter Laura Estela Zielinski and husband Jason of Pflugerville, TX; his sister Irma Alvarado of Mexico; two brothers, Samuel Alvarado and wife Maricela of Amarillo, TX and Severo Alvarado and wife Noelia of Lubbock, TX; four grandchildren, Nicholas Alvarado, Christian Alvarado, Celina Sauceda and Mia Grace Zielinski; one great grandchild, Cori Sauceda.
