Ascencion Espinosa (Plainview)

Ascencion Espinosa, 86, of Hale Center passed away on October 16, 2018. Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Hale Center with Rev. Sylvester DeSouza officiating. Burial will follow Hale Center Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. The family will also be having a service Friday morning in the Kornerstone Chapel starting at 9:30 with Pastor Dan Preston officiating.

A rosary will be held 6:00 P.M. Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Kornerstone Chapel.

He was born June 21, 1932 in Rosebud, Texas to Ascencion Espinosa, Sr. and Paul (Rangel) Espinosa. He married Oronia Vielma on January 19, 1952 in Plainview, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife, Oronia Espinosa; his children, Ascencion Espinosa, Jr. of Childress, Frank Espinosa and wife Rosa of Garden City, KS, Joe Espinosa and wife Sally of Plainview, Richard Espinosa and wife Angelita of Plainview, Ernest Espinosa of Hale Center, Ruben Espinosa and wife Lorena of Copperas Cove, Lupe Ybarra and husband Joe of Plainview, Irene Olivas and husband Ruben of Plainview, Josie Nunez of Lubbock, Irma Ruiz and husband Jessie of Lubbock, Stella Gonzalez and husband Larry of Hale Center, Elias Espinosa and wife Pauline of Hale Center, Valentin Espinosa and wife Vangie of Lubbock; a sister, Paula Vega; 49 grandchildren, 104 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Felix Espinosa, Guadalupe Espinosa, Eusebio Espinosa, Margarito Riojas; sisters, Julia Riojas, Maria Rodriquez; granddaughter, Melissa Arispe; grandson Andrew Gonzalez.
