Barbara Ann Curry (Plainview)

Barbara Ann Curry, 87, passed away on February 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held at Garland Street Church of Christ on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. with Steve Gauntt officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Barbara, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born on August 6, 1937, in Paris, Texas. Known for her warm smile and delicious meals, Barbara created a nurturing environment for all who crossed her path. Deeply spiritual and actively involved in her community, Barbara found great joy in her church, where she formed lasting friendships and shared her unwavering faith. She was a passionate cook who delighted in preparing meals for family gatherings, always bringing people together around the table. Barbara loved watching sports and cherished every moment spent cheering on her favorite teams alongside her loved ones. In addition to her many interests, she was an avid viewer of soap operas and could often be found on the phone, chatting with friends and family, sharing laughter and stories. Most importantly, Barbara treasured her grandchildren, finding immense joy in their presence. Barbara leaves a legacy of love and kindness, and will be missed by many friends and family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; Willie and Florine Carreathers, children; Johnny Curry, Jr., Laurita Wall, and Tanya Coleman, siblings; Carol Hodge, Edith Horton, Willie Helen Miller, Henry Carreathers, Flora Carreathers, and Willie Carreathers, Jr., and grandchild; Katrina Wall.

Barbara is survived by her children; LaJuana Curry of Plainview, Kathy Curry of Lubbock, Thomas Curry, Sr. of Plainview, and Verlonda Curry of McGregor, grandchildren; Bryson Davis, Rashaud Ellis, Porshea Ellis, Summer Coleman, Colby Coleman, Thomas Curry, Jr., and Avagrace Curry, and fifteen loving great-grandchildren.
