Barbara M Lambert (Plainview)

Barbara Lambert passed away after a long, brave battle with Parkinson's on November 19, 2023. She fought a valiant fight to the very end.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, November 21st, at Kornerstone from to 6-7 P.M. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Mr. Gabe Moudy officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Born in Wellington, TX, to Myrett & Dorothy Henry, she grew up in Plainview where she was active in Girl Scouts & FUMC youth group until she graduated high school in 1966. She married Jim in January 1968 and has been riding shotgun ever since. He was the love of her life. After living in Arlington, they moved back to Plainview in 1972 where they attended FUMC. She became a Christian in 1977 and was very active in the church. Her personal walk with the Lord exploded when she attended a Walk to Emmaus in Amarillo in 1988. She was very involved in the Golden Spread & Living Water Emmaus communities for many years. More recently she was water baptized at the First Baptist Church on June 3, 2012 and was in the Ramsower Sunday School class. Years ago, she found a love for quilting & shared that love with many around her. She felt it was her calling, her way to show the love of her God & Savior to all that she encountered. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Betty Gouldy and Peggy Hellerstein. She was survived by her husband Jim Lambert of Plainview; son, Phillip Lambert of Plainview; daughter, Joanna Cargill and husband Jason of Trophy Club; her favorite grandkids, Avery Cargill of Lubbock & William Cargill of Stillwater, OK; sister, Joann Gaston and husband Wix of Sudan; brother-in-law, Dr. Lewis Hellerstein of Houston; and many nieces and nephews and family members. If you would like to honor Barb's memory with a donation to her favorite causes: Southwest Parkinson Society, 3610 22nd St. Suite 300, Lubbock, TX 79410, or the Ceta Canyon Retreat Center, 37201 FM1721, Happy, TX 79042, or Traditions Hospice, 4300 Olton Rd., Plainview, TX 79072.
