Barbara Jean Lucio (Lopez) (Plainview)

Barbara Jean Lucio (Lopez), aged 67, passed away on February 19, 2025, in Plainview, Texas. Born on December 1, 1957, Barbara was known for her vibrant personality, treating everyone as a potential new friend and often being the source of both comfort and wise counsel. 

Barbara graduated from Fremont Ross High School and furthered her education at Davenport University. Her life was richly dedicated to her roles as a mother, wife, and friend, always ready with a supportive word or to lend a hand. She was deeply committed to her faith. 

Surviving Barbara are her husband, Luis Lu-cio-Chavez; her children, Daniel Jesus Lopez, Major Angelica Maria Fernandez, Jose Guadalupe Mata, Gabriel Mata, Luis Lucio Jr., Joshua Lucio, Marc Anthony Lucio, and Amber Renee Marti-nez; and her cherished 28 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Moon and Henry Lopez, and her son, Juan Carlos Mata. 

A rosary will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25th at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Barbara's passing marks the loss of a beacon of love and strength in her family, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
