Ben Vineyard (Plainview)

Ben Vineyard, 86, of Kress, Texas, died on February 15, 2018 in Plainview, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Kress with Will Fish, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.  A visitation will be held from 6:00–8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Ben was born July 12, 1931, in Kress, Texas, to Ronald and Georgia (Parmer) Vineyard. He married Doris Bostick on August 12, 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He was a farmer until 1977 then worked at Terra International from 1979 until his retirement. He was a member of Kress Baptist Church and served on the board for Kress Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Oleta Alexander and a brother, Leon Vineyard. Ben is survived by his wife, Doris Vineyard of Plainview; two sons, Kent Vineyard and his wife Jill of Lubbock, Texas and Bryan Vineyard and his wife Kim of Southlake, Texas; a brother, Melvin Vineyard of Idalou, Texas; a granddaughter, Megan Prascher and her husband Matt and a grandson, Clint Vineyard and his wife Kristin; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Shelby Prascher.
