Tulia, Texas—Bettye Stout, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 22, 2018 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home chapel. Bettye was born on October 7, 1934 in Hill County, Texas to John T. and Minnie Williams. She graduated from Springlake-Earth High School in 1952 and she married Don Stout on August 30, 1952. Don was in the US Air Force for four years following their marriage. She was a devoted wife and mother. She spent 17 years as a farm wife. She also worked at First National Bank and was Vice-President of the Trust Department for 19 years. In 1994 they both retired and traveled all over the United States and Canada. Don passed away on May 25, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one daughter, Patricia Lynn Stout, one brother: John T. Williams, Jr. and two sisters: Dorothy Parton and Martha Williams. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Flowers and husband Randy of Amarillo, two sons, Steve Stout and wife LaTonda of Tulia and James Stout and wife Kim of Center Point, one sister: Margaret Inez Burnett of Fairfield, TX, six grandchildren: Tracie Walker, Kirah Calhoun, Erin House, Seth Stout, Brooke Warren, Preston Flowers, 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
