Billie Gene Newsome (Plainview)

Billie Gene Newsome, 61, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Plainview, Texas. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation is to be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, TX. Billie was born on March 3, 1959 to Donald and Bettie Newsome. He was a machinist for over forty years and enjoyed his work. He also loved to travel, to garden and spending as much time with his grandchildren as he could. He was an avid Houston Texans and Texas A&M fan. He was a member of Colonial Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Don E. Newsome and one sister, Debbie Barcheers. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Newsome of Plainview; three children, Kimberly Marquez of El Paso, TX, Michael Newsome and wife Heather of Plainview and Corey Newsome of Plainview; five grandchildren, Kassidie, Amos, Dominic, Elena and John and his mother, Bettie Newsome.
