Billy Gene Sisemore was born April 25, 1941 to Henry Wallace and Mary Viola Sisemore in Sulphur Springs, Oklahoma. The family moved to Memphis, Texas when he was six months old. They later moved to Mayfield, Texas and he attended school and graduated from Hale Center in 1959. He met Norma Sue Lindsey during his high school years and they married at Mayfield Baptist Church on June 11, 1960. They started out farming and started their family and in 1966 Gene went into the DPS Academy and became a Texas State Trooper. He was stationed in Bailey County, Hale County and Burleson County until he resigned in 1977. At that time he started farming in Hale County and farmed until 1982. He began selling insurance for A.L. Williams and worked for Laidlaw Transportation where he retired in 2006. He was a substitute teacher for Hale Center school district after his retirement. Gene is survived by his wife Norma Sue Sisemore of Hale Center; his children, Billy and Denise Sisemore of Knob Noster, MO, Jerry and Melissa Ann Huffhines of Hale Center, Anthony and Lori Sisemore of Dumas, Mitchell and Gayle Sisemore of Katy; six grandsons and four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two brothers, Bobby Sisemore of Kress, Tommy Sisemore of Robert Lee; one sister, Mary June Stalcup of Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews. His services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Hale Center with Rev. Anthony D. Sisemore and Dr. Kris Knippa officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
