Tulia, Texas—Bobby D. Ewing Sr., 84, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Tulia with Brother Tommy Ewing officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Bobby was born on January 30, 1935 in Randall County to James Enzo Sr. and Onita (Johnson) Ewing. Bobby worked for the Tulia Herald while in high school and graduated Tulia High School in 1953. He then worked for the Plainview Herald before working for the Amarillo Globe News and retired after 27 years. He married Gloria Jean Molnar on January 1, 1982 in Amarillo. Bobby and Gloria traveled around many number of states. After he retired, he went to work as a cross guard for the South Georgia Elementary School in Amarillo for 14 years. His hobbies were displaying Christmas lights, square dancing, bowling and was Dallas Cowboys fan but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Jack Ewing and Donald Ewing, one sister; Glenda White, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Gloria Ewing, five daughters; Johnnie Oyler, Jagala Shaw, Janita Sanders and husband Don, Rayma Cox and Paula Ewing, two sons; Bobby Dwane Ewing, Jr. and wife Debi and Mitchell Surtees, one brother; Tommy Ewing and wife JoAnn, three sisters; Christine Gunnels, Melba White and Vickie Bowers, 65 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
