Elbert Bruce “Papaw” Cline passed away in his home on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at the age of 79. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2020 in Plainview Memorial Park with Gary and Kim Sherlock officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
Bruce was born May 5, 1941 in Plainview, Texas to Eddie and Monte Dell Cline. He married Amelia Lynn Teague in 1960 in Plainview. His presence on this Earth will not soon be forgotten as his kindness and generosity will transcend generations. Although he would have told you that he was touched by the hand of God, it is we who are blessed to have been touched by his love. Whether it be devoting every waking minute to the care of his dearest love, traveling the country to camp with his family, teaching his grandchildren to fish, or singing with his great grandchildren, he always placed his own care and well-being behind those who he cared for. The cost of the sweet memories and lessons he leaves behind will be paid in full as he receives his reward from the Master’s hand.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a great granddaughter, Amelia Jensen, his son, Wayne Cline and a brother, Buddy Cline.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kimberly Sherlock and husband Gary of Fort Worth, Texas, Deborah Ryan of Frisco, Texas; his brother, Kenny Cline and wife Debbie of Houston, Texas; his sister-in-law, Ardith Cline of Royce City, Texas; his grandchildren, Travis and April Sherlock, Chad and Summerly Sherlock, Amanda and Josh Storm, Hannah Ryan, Katie and Edwin Jensen; great grandchildren, Caleb Sherlock, John Jensen, Gracie Jensen and Waverly Sherlock.
