Buddy Vineyard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was born on January 11, 1954, in Plainview, Texas, to Jimmie and Bobbi (Rains) Vineyard. His life was filled with adventure and love, weaving together the threads of family, friendship, and passion for the outdoors.

Raised with the spirit of a cowboy, Buddy embraced life with enthusiasm, riding bulls during his high school years at Kress High School, from which he graduated in 1972. His thirst for knowledge led him to Texas State Technical School in Amarillo, where he pursued his interests further.

Throughout his career, Buddy worked tirelessly in various cotton gins, eventually ascending to the role of manager at Center Plains, New Home, Brownfield, and Kress. His dedication and hard work earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Buddy found joy in the simple pleasures of life; he loved watching bull riding on television, spending tranquil days fishing, and enjoying rounds of golf. But above all, his greatest pride and joy were his family. He cherished his wife, Wanda, and took immense pleasure in being a devoted father and grandfather.

Known for his larger-than-life personality, Buddy was a character who loved deeply and enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends. Following their retirement, Buddy and Wanda embarked on adventures across the country, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

A faithful member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Buddy’s life was a testament to his unwavering values and love for community.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Vineyard and Bobbie Renfro; his in-laws, Urban and Roberta Kleman; his brothers-in-law, Raef Albracht and Kevin Kleman and one nephew, John Green.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Vineyard of Kress; his daughter, Lisa Afkhami and husband Jason of Aledo, TX.; his son, Jim Vineyard and wife Valerie of New Home, TX.; his grandchildren, Davis, Gage, Callan, Annie, Callie, Tripp and Jack, his siblings, Mike Vineyard of Lubbock and Sherry Duncan of Wales; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda and Deacon Jackie Gunnels of Tulia, Cheryl and Jim Green of Garden City, Kansas, Melissa Albracht of Amarillo, Keith and Sherie Kleman of Amarillo and numerous nieces and nephews.
