Carl Martin (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Carl Martin, 90, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the First Assembly of God Church with Mr. Harold Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Carl was born on October 12, 1928 in Farmersville, Texas to Grady and Bitha Exie (Jordan) Martin. Carl worked with his father in farming and also worked at the Tulia Wheat Growers Elevators. He later enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He served his country for four years and later came home and worked for Jay Lines Trucking for 20 years. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Tulia. Carl loved to fish and most of all he was very family oriented. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter; Carol Sue Martin, five brothers; Bill Martin, Delbert Martin, Harold Martin, Leon Martin and Roy Martin, one sister; Gertrude Pevehouse. He is survived by his six sons; Ken Martin of Dallas, Dean Martin of Amarillo, Brian Martin of Amarillo, Wade Martin of Tulia, Billy Martin of Amarillo and Stevie Martin of Amarillo, one daughter; Jana Martin Godfrey of Harrisonville, MO., two sisters; Gracie Hammons of Tulia and Janice Andrus of Tulia, Several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
