Tulia, Texas-Carlos Magallanes, Sr. 61, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Funeral service will he held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Central Church of Christ with Bob Colson officiating with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia.  Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Carlos was born on July 13, 1959 in Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jesus and Rosa Amelia (Garcia) Magallanes. At the age of 12, Carlos migrated by himself to the United States and came to live with his grandparents. He attended schools in Tulia and worked in the fields and met the love of his life Linda Barrera. Linda and Carlos got married on July 15, 1977, in Tulia and they had many goals in life. Carlos started his first used furniture store in Mexico and then expanded and opened Second Time Around, a used furniture store in Tulia. They both owned and operated Magallanes Bail Bonds, A-1 Towing and Linda’s Even Center.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s Fan, and his passion was riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, taking road trips with Linda, and having many adventures. In his collections he had antique coins and guns. Carlos and Linda enjoyed having BBQs with family and friends and they were very social.

Carlos worked from pesos to dollars and always had a set of goals for life to accomplish the American dream. He surpassed and continued to drive for more to succeed in life and never acted better than anyone else. He will be missed and remembered by the hard-working person he was.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Magallanes.

He is survived by his wife; Linda Magallanes of Tulia, his daughter; Valerie Ann Magallanes of Tulia, two sons; Carlos Magallanes, Jr. and fiancé Crystal Celest and Hector Magallanes and wife Kristen all of Tulia, his mother; Rosa Amelia Garcia Magallanes of Mexico, one brother; Cesar Magallanes of Tulia, three sisters; Laura Almanza Magallanes, Leticia Magallanes, and Idalia “Norma” Gomez Magallanes all of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, his grandchildren; Aiden Cuellar, Amadeus Martinez, Ezeqiel Moralez, Mercedes Basaldua, Victor Basaldua, Jadon Basaldua, Carlos Magallanes, Ethan Reyes, Anahi Magallanes and Elias Magallanes and his dog Harley.
