Carolyn Baldridge, 80, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with her grandson Keith Baldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Carolyn was born on April 18, 1937 in Southland, Texas to Barney and Iva Walker. She attended schools in Whiteface and later moved to Corpus Christi. She would play the accordion for the USO shows there. She later met and married Carol Baldridge on June 19, 1952. After moving to Plainview she would play the piano and organ in different churches including the Missionary Baptist Church at Ralls, the Mexican Baptist Church at Sudan. She taught GA’s at the Boswell Heights Baptist Church. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church where she would play the piano and organ. She worked at Central Freight Lines and Pioneer Drilling and Pump Co. for a few years but mostly she was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carol who passed away on December 18, 1997. She is survived by her two daughters: Cindy Shadix and husband Derald of Plainview, TX and Vicki Horan and husband Russell of Saginaw, TX, her son: Morris Baldridge and wife Jessica of Coppell, TX.
