Catherine McGehee Dolen (Plainview)

Catherine McGehee Dolen, 66, passed away on March 15, 2025 in Dallas, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. A funeral Service will be held March 20, 2025 at 2 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas. A private family graveside service will be held on March 21, 2025 at 10 A.M. in Lubbock, Texas. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.

Catherine was born on March 22, 1958 to Bobby and Mary Ann McGehee in Lubbock, Texas. She was a graduate of Plainview High School, class of 1976 and received a B.A. of English and a B.A. of Interior Design from Baylor University. She was incredibly talented with design and creating beautiful spaces. She was accredited with ASID and opened her interior designer firm, CDA Interior Design, in 1997. She loved to go on adventures and was most proud of completing a pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago with her sister in the summer of 2023.

Catherine is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Chester & Hettie Smith; and her paternal Grandparents, Thomas & Loene McGehee.

She is survived by her husband Joe Dolen of Dallas, TX; her parents, Bobby and Mary Ann Mcgehee of Plainview, TX; two daughters, Amy Fisher & husband Troy of Richardson, TX and Mary Beth Monroe & husband James of Syracuse, NY; step-daughter, Sarah Price & husband William of San Antonio, TX; step-son Ross Dolen of Hutto, TX; sister, Celia Brown of Plainview, TX; eight grandchildren, Drew, Clay & Mary Kate Fisher of Richardson, TX, Tom & Gloria Monroe of Syracuse, NY, and Bennett, Bex, & Brixton Price of San Antonio, TX; niece, Andrea Brown of Carrollton, TX; two nephews, Christopher Brown of Austin, TX and Steven Brown of South Fork, CO.
