Charles Cate (Plainview)

Charles Cate, 81 passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 17, 2023 in the Kornerstone Chapel with Rev. Joseph Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the funeral home. Charles was born on November 10, 1941 in Ropesville, Texas to George and Millie Cate. He married Kay Haynes on January 28, 1965 in Lubbock, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2009. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kay Cate; his son, Kenneth Cate; his brothers, Alvie Jones, Billy Ray Cate, Joe Cate and Freddy Cate; his sisters, Vita Sherrill, Charlotte Martin and Bessie Nell Cate. Charles is survived by his life partner, LaNeta Pence “Wonder Women”; one son Charles Gregory Cate & wife Lori of Lubbock, Texas; three daughters, Shonda Radke of Heston, Kansas, Tina Collins & husband Eric of Olympia, Washington and Tonya Cate of Plainview, Texas; one brother, James Cate & wife Rida of Plainview, Texas; two sisters, Thelma Rowlett & husband Paul of Amarillo, Texas and Nancy Greer & husband Fred of Plainview, Texas; twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
