Charles Lane (Plainview)

Charles Ernest Lane, 64, of Plainview, died on Monday, May 28, 2018. He was born March 9, 1954, in Plainview, Texas, to Birt and Ina Ruth (Pat) Lane. Charles lived in Plainview since the age of three and farmed in the Quarterway area for the past 42 years. Charles loved his guns and enjoyed working cattle with his dad and boys. Charles was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing basketball in school and loved watching his boys play sports. Basketball was his favorite. He loved attending basketball games and tournaments with his boys. Charles’ grandchildren were the light of his life. He cherished all of the time they spent with Pops. Charles was a faithful member of Northwest Church of Christ in Plainview.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Carol; three sons, Blake and wife Tandy, Tyler and wife Lisa, and Tanner and wife Colette, all of Plainview; two brothers, Tim and wife Pam of Hereford, David and wife Debbie of Plainview; one sister, Patti Miller and husband Mark of Plainview; five grandchildren; Chloe, Grant, Benson, Woodrow, Charli, and one on the way, Vivian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Birt and Pat Lane.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30th, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31st, at Northwest Church of Christ with Hugh Miller and Gerald Bedwell officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
