Charley Davis (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas- Charley Davis, 83, passed away on August 3, 2018 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor David Gadberry officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

 A visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, August 6, 2018 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Charley was born on August 2, 1935 in Henderson County to Lewis and Anna Mae Davis. Charley was a truck driver who worked for Athens Brick for a couple years. He married Virginia Ruth Wilbanks on August 7, 1963 in Palestine, TX.  He later moved with his family to Swisher County in 1977 and worked at Swisher Feedlot and retired in 1998.  Upon his retirement he started farming for Tommy Womack until 2004. His hobbies were piddling' on old pickups and doing yard work.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son: Troy Dwayne Davis; two sisters: Mary Jane Davis and Martha Ann Sellers.

He is survived by his wife: Virginia Davis of Tulia; two daughters: Kim Garza & husband Oscar of Tulia, Sonya Ray & husband Mikey of Plainview, three sons: James Davis & wife Jamie of Tulia, Charley Davis Jr. of Tulia, David Davis & wife Tabitha of Happy, one brother: Troy Davis of Brownsboro, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
